In the run-up to the Day of the Cosmogolem, Studio Koen Vanmechelen and LABIOMISTA, as part of the learning ecosystem OpUnDi Genk, organized various creative pre-projects in collaboration with the City of Genk and local organizations. Children were playfully involved in the event’s preparation.
For example, students from GA voor Kunst created ants that will be on display during the Day of the Cosmogolem, while children from Genk’s after-school care made dreamcatchers and dressed the mini Cosmogolems in rebellious outfits. Even the campaign image for the Day of the Cosmogolem was born from a neighborhood project in which children were photographed with the Cosmogolem’s head and visualized their dreams.
The Stilt Heroes of GIGOS are also bringing magic to the Day of the Cosmogolem. These young dreamers spent the past weeks creating a unique performance. They visited LABIOMISTA and drew inspiration from the Cosmogolem.
The result? An interactive performance that will be presented during the Day of the Cosmogolem.
